A day late and $0.83 short. I am keeping it brief this week.
- Fr. John Hunwicke, “Canonisation: A Topical Footnote,” Mutual Enrichment – Herein Fr. Hunwicke issues the same point I advanced earlier concerning the 21 Coptic New Martyrs, only with greater brevity.
- Matthew Cooper, “The Selective Apophasis of the Acton Institute,” Solidarity Hall – Matthew Cooper is keeping up his critique of the Acton Institute’s attempt to manufacture an Eastern Orthodox social magisterium. May God bless his efforts.
- Sandro Magister, “Assaulted by Moscow and Abandoned by Rome,” Chiesa – 50 years ago the Vatican threw the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) under the proverbial bus in order to gain Russian Orthodox observers at the Second Vatican Council. Though Pope John Paul II pressed for the UGCC’s freedom in 1989, it looks like Rome is prepared to abandon yet again her longsuffering children in order to pander to the Bear.
